Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre announced he is retiring from the NFL, which is nothing new to fans around the league.
However, this time Favre said he truly means it, and he seems set on moving on with life after football.
Favre said he knows that it is time, and that he has no regrets, something that not too many other players can say.

The Minnesota Vikings kept it close early but were overwhelmed by the Chicago Bears in a 40-14 loss.
Quarterback Brett Favre unexpectedly got the start and lead the Vikings to a touchdown on their first drive.
Favre was knocked out of the game with a concussion not long thereafter, and the rout was on.

The Minnesota Vikings have placed quarterback Tavaris Jackson on injured reserve, ending his season.
The quarterback is suffering from turf toe, which caused him to leave Monday night’s game for the second time.
Jackson was expected to start the remaining games with Brett Favre nursing a severe shoulder injury.
Now it’s up in the air as to who will play quarterback for the Vikings. Favre said he would like to come back and finish out the year, but he can’t even throw the ball right now. (Read More…)

With the Metrodome still not ready for action, the Minnesota Vikings will host the Chicago Bears at the University of Minnesota’s stadium.
TCF Bank Stadium was a consideration for the Vikings-Giants game but could not be readied in time.
The Giants also did not bring any cold weather gear and the stadium is outside, complicating matters.
Damage to the roof of the Metrodome was worse than officials initially believed, and there is no time frame for a fix. (Read More…)

The Minnesota Vikings overcame the loss of quarterback Brett Favre in a 38-14 demolition of the Buffalo Bills.
Favre went down early in the game after his shoulder was driven into the ground, and he did not return.
Tavaris Jackson came in off the bench and filled in well, throwing for 187 yards and two touchdowns.

The Minnesota Vikings got back on the winning track with a 17-13 victory over the Washington Redskins.
The Vikings got an early touchdown from running back Adrian Peterson, but an ankle injury sidelined him for the rest of the day.
The offense then had to turn its attention to rookie running back Toby Gerhart, and he scored his first career touchdown.

Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Pat Williams said he will not retire after the season after all.
Williams announced before the season that he was most definitely retiring next year.
The 38-year old is currently the oldest defensive player in the NFL, but you wouldn’t know it by his production on the field.
He is in the last year of his contract, but he said he would like to return to Minnesota next season. (Read More…)

Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress is working hour to hour and could be fired at any moment.
Owner Zygi Wilf strongly considering firing Childress after he cut wideout Randy Moss without first consulting with him.
It is just the latest development in what has been a rocky tenure for Childress during his time with the Vikings.
There are also reports that Childress and wideout Percy Harvin got into a confrontation at practice Friday and that it nearly turned physical. (Read More…)

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre was knocked out of the New England game, but not because of his ankle injury.
Favre was able to hobble around pretty well in the pocket, but he wasn’t getting much help from his offensive line.
The quarterback was getting hit on nearly every pass play, and a blow to the chin in the fourth quarter ended his day.
Favre was hit in the chin with a defender’s helmet, causing blood to come rushing from his face. (Read More…)

The visiting Minnesota Vikings were undone by turnovers in a 28-24 loss to the rival Green Bay Packers.
Quarterback Brett Favre threw four interceptions including three in the second half, and one was returned for a touchdown.
Favre tried to rally the team late, but a touchdown pass to Percy Havin to win the game was reviewed and ruled incomplete.
