Vikings crushed by Bears, 40-14

The Minnesota Vikings kept it close early but were overwhelmed by the Chicago Bears in a 40-14 loss.

Quarterback Brett Favre unexpectedly got the start and lead the Vikings to a touchdown on their first drive.

Favre was knocked out of the game with a concussion not long thereafter, and the rout was on.

Rookie Joe Webb, originally the third string quarterback, came on in relief of Favre and struggled.

He threw for just 129 yards and two interceptions. He also ran for 38 yards and a touchdown.
